Ministry of Education Announces Gradual Resumption of In-Person Classes Starting Tuesday

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced on Monday the gradual resumption of in-person classes across educational institutions in the country starting Tuesday, with full in-person attendance for all students in schools and kindergartens to resume next Sunday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry stated that this decision is part of a phased plan covering all educational levels. The plan includes in-person care for children and the return of administrative and teaching staff at nurseries, set to begin on Wednesday.

For kindergartens and public and private schools, the Ministry indicated that students would temporarily continue remote learning from Tuesday through Thursday, March 26. During this period, administrative and teaching staff will return to schools starting Wednesday to prepare for the full resumption of in-person classes next Sunday.

The Ministry outlined the schedule for public schools during the remote learning period, which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:35 p.m., including five 35-minute periods and two breaks for breakfast and prayer. Private schools will have the flexibility to organize their schedules to meet curriculum requirements, ensuring that classes start at 9:00 a.m. and do not exceed five hours.

Regarding higher education, the Ministry confirmed that in-person classes at universities and other higher education institutions would resume on Tuesday, following each institution's approved schedule. This measure also applies to private educational and training centers.

The Ministry emphasized the need to follow updates through official channels and adhere to safety and security guidelines issued by the relevant authorities to ensure a safe and stable learning environment for all.
