Prime Minister of Qatar Receives Condolence Calls from Gulf and Egyptian Foreign Ministers

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani has received phone calls from the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, and Egypt.

According to Qatar News Agency, the calls were made by HH Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud; HE Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; HH Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of Egypt, Dr. Badr Abdelatty.

During the calls, the foreign ministers expressed their condolences on the martyrdom of Qatar Armed Forces servicemembers who died in a helicopter crash in Qatari territorial waters. The crash was attributed to a technical malfunction during a routine mission. The discussions also covered the ongoing military escalation in the region, its implications for security and stability, and the need for peaceful resolution of disputes.

They emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination and efforts to halt any escalatory actions immediately and return to dialogue. The ministers called for prioritizing rationality and judiciousness to contain the crisis, ensuring global energy security, freedom of navigation, environmental safety, and regional stability.
