The Ministry of Labour (MOL), organized a celebratory event in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), on the occasion of International Women's Day, under the title "Women’s Work Group”.
The ceremony was attended by HE Mrs. Hamda Al Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Mr. Yousef Mohamed Al Jaidah, CEO of QFC, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Al Obaidly, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs at MOL, Mr. Mohamed Saif Al Kuwari, Vice-Chairman of NHRC, and Ms. Najat Abdullah, director of the Family Affairs Department at MSDF, Dr. Fatima Ali Al Kubaisi, head of the Social Sciences Department at Qatar University, and Mr. Max Tunon, Head of the ILO Project Office, in addition to a number of ambassadors of brotherly and friendly countries.
During the ceremony, the Ministry of Labour announced the launch of the "Women's Work Group" initiative, in participation of many actors in the country from ministries, the private sector and academic institutions. This initiative will serve as a joint cooperation platform with the aim of exchanging experiences, information, best practices and research to enhance the potential of women at all levels and enhance their presence in the labour market.
