MOT Organizes Workshop on Land Transport Standards, Laws

The Ministry of Transport (MOT) in the State of Qatar, in collaboration with the International Road Transport Union (IRU), has organized a workshop on land transport standards and laws in order to view the best practices in this area.

The workshop was attended by a number of experts affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the General Authority of Customs, QatarEnergy, Qatar Chamber and Woqod, as well as specialists from the MOT’s Land Transport Planning and Licensing and a number of professionals representing some consulting firms in the private sector.

Mr. Engineer Hamad Issa Abdullah, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of Land Transport Affairs at MOT, said: "The workshop comes within the framework of MOT’s plans and objectives to develop the professional qualifications of its professionals, as well as the professionals of State stakeholders involved in the field of land transportation. This is in line with the most recent international practices, thus supporting MOT's work toward developing this vital sector in a sustainable and integrated manner to realize Qatar National Vision 2030."
