Progressing with racing, the Mubarak Zayed Al Shahwani-owned Purebred Arabian filly RAAYAT AL MAJD (Mister Ginoux x Cacao De Ghazal) broke her maiden in style at Sluzewiec, Poland, on Sunday, September 19th.
Having finished third and second on her two previous starts at Warsaw, the Maciej Kacprzyk-trained three-year-old broke her maiden at the third time of asking under an enterprising ride from jockey Stefano Mura.
Sporting a pair of blinkers, RAAYAT AL MAJD was quickly out of the stalls for the 1,800m contest. Taken straight to the lead by Mura, the filly set a good tempo and was tucked in against the rail. Turning for home, it was clear that few of her six rivals were going to get involved and once asked to quicken, RAAYAT AL MAJD quickly went five lengths clear. Staying on strongly inside the final 200m, RAAYAT AL MAJD went on to score by breathtaking ten lengths from ZHAKER MUSCAT (Omaier), who finished second, a head clear of AL SHAIKHA DE FAUST, who was back in third.
Bred by Amjad Al Jumally, RAAYAT AL MAJD is by Haras de Thouars’ STALLION MISTER GINOUX (Amer). Her dam, CACAO DE GHAZAL (Dormane) was unraced, but comes from a strong family of winners. The second dam CHERIE D’ESPIENS (Cheri Bibi) was a dual winner in France and produced four individual winners.
