National Security arrests a prominent member of ISIS gangs in Kirkuk

The National Security Service announced the overthrow of a prominent member of ISIS gangs in Kirkuk and thwarting the formation of a terrorist cell in Nineveh. The Service said in a statement, "Based on accurate intelligence information that was reinforced by a major field effort, the National Security Service detachments in Kirkuk Governorate were able, after obtaining judicial approvals, to arrest one of the prominent members of the ISIS terrorist gangs." He added, "The terrorist was responsible for the so-called (Office of Prisoners and Martyrs Affairs for the State of Iraq) during the terrorist gangs' control over some areas of the country," indicating that he was arrested after hiding from view during the previous period. The statement indicated, "In Nineveh, our Service was able to thwart the formation of a terrorist cell and arrest its members, who are (4) people. During the investigation, they confessed to the existence of a secret hideout for them, and when they went to it, a number of light and m edium weapons, various ammunition, and explosive manufacturing materials were found." He added, "On the same level, the Service 's detachments in Nineveh, Anbar, and Kirkuk were able to arrest (15) terrorists against whom judicial arrest warrants were issued." The statement confirmed, "The statements of all the defendants were duly recorded, and they were referred to the competent legal authorities to take the necessary measures against them.
