Nechirvan Barzani renews his pledge to continue working to rescue the kidnapped Yazidis

The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, congratulated today, Wednesday, on the occasion of the Yazidi New Year, reiterating his pledge to rescue the remaining kidnapped by ISIS.

In a statement on the occasion of the Yazidi New Year, he said, "I warmly congratulate the Yazidi sisters and brothers in Kurdistan, Iraq and everywhere in the world on the Yazidi New Year, wishing them a happy and safe holiday."

He added, "My greetings and appreciation to the Yazidi families and victims of terrorism. Our hearts are always with them, and we assure them that we will continue to work to save them and reveal their fate as long as there is a Yazidi whose fate is unknown and kidnapped."

On August 3, 2014, ISIS elements attacked the Sinjar district, west of Nineveh Governorate, killing and injuring a large number of Yazidis, as well as displacing them and destroying their areas.
