North Gaza: Violent clashes and a new displacement movement

Gaza - Together - On Monday, several areas in the northern Gaza Strip witnessed ongoing violent clashes for hours between Palestinian factions and the Israeli army, accompanied by a new displacement movement. Anatolia Agency said: Several areas north of the Gaza Strip have turned into what resembles a real war zone, witnessing continuous clashes for hours between factions and the Israeli army. The clashes included an exchange of fire between the two sides and Israeli artillery shelling on the areas of Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, and the vicinity of the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing, without it being immediately possible to know the resulting human losses. Israeli army vehicles entered Beit Hanoun amid heavy gunfire and artillery shells from its side. The Israeli artillery shelling led to a new exodus of Palestinians from the town of Beit Lahia towards the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip. In conjunction with these violent clashes, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announc ed in successive statements that its fighters in Beit Hanoun 'managed to snipe an Israeli soldier,' 'target an occupation D9 military bulldozer with an Al-Yassin 105 missile,' and 'destroy a gathering of forces.' "The occupation infiltrated with mortar shells." The Beit Hanoun area, where clashes have escalated particularly in recent hours, is the first area the Israeli army entered Gaza, when it began its war on the Strip about 7 months ago. Israel is witnessing escalating internal criticism and accusations of failure to achieve the goals of the war on Gaza, in light of the Palestinian factions continuing to fire missiles at Israeli settlements, causing deaths and injuries among the army, and Tel Aviv's inability to return its prisoners from the Gaza Strip. Earlier Monday, the Israeli army announced on its website that 8 of its soldiers were injured in battles in Gaza during the past 24 hours. He explained that the number of his soldiers injured since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7 had risen t o 3,294, including 1,583 who were injured since the start of the ground operation on the 27th of the same month. The number of people killed during this war reached 605, including 260 since the start of the ground operation, according to the same source. The escalating clashes in the northern Gaza Strip coincide with the Israeli army's announcement on Monday of the start of a military operation in the corridor it established in the middle of the Gaza Strip, separating its north from its south. The army said in a statement on its website that the 162nd Division, led by the Nahal Brigade Combat Team, affiliated with the Southern Command, launched an operation in the 'central corridor' area of ??the Gaza Strip, without clarifying details about the operation, which it claimed was to 'combat terrorism,' as he put it.
