Doha: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding strong winds and high seas expected offshore on Saturday. In its latest daily weather report, the department highlights that inshore conditions until 6:00 pm will range from relatively hot to hot during the daytime, with occasional clouds, and will moderate by night. Offshore areas are also predicted to experience occasional cloud cover.
According to Qatar News Agency, winds inshore are anticipated to shift from northwesterly to northeasterly at 3 to 10 knots initially, before changing to southeasterly to easterly at 5 to 15 knots later in the day. Offshore, the winds will begin as northwesterly to northeasterly at 5 to 15 knots, with gusts reaching up to 25 knots before transitioning to southeasterly.
Sea conditions are expected to vary significantly, with inshore seas ranging from 1 to 3 feet and potentially rising to 5 feet initially. Offshore seas will range from 2 to 4 feet, with an initial peak of up to 8 feet. Visibility inshore is forecasted to range from 5 to 10 kilometers, while offshore visibility is expected to be between 5 and 9 kilometers.
