Prime Minister Attends Ceremony Honoring Cities of Qatar as “Healthy Cities” by WHO

HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended yesterday morning, at Sheraton Doha Hotel, a ceremony honoring the cities of Qatar as “Healthy Cities”. The ceremony was on the occasion of receiving all the municipalities of the State of Qatar the title of “Healthy Cities”, Qatar University (QU) as “Healthy University” and Qatar Foundation’s Education City as “Healthy Education City” by the World Health Organization (WHO), which is one of the results of the National Health Strategy projects 2018-2022.

 

The ceremony included a screening of a documentary film on health cities for representatives of the Ministries of Public Health and the Ministry of Municipality, WHO, QU, Generation Amazing, and Qatar Olympic Sports Museum. The ceremony concluded with the delivery of accreditation certificates to the recently approved municipalities and QU.

 

After the ceremony, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior planted the tree of Qatar’s first healthy cities, as part of the initiative to plant a million trees.
