Qatar Airways Expands Its African Network with New Routes and Increased Frequencies

Doha: Qatar Airways is expanding its African network, with flight resumptions and frequency increases launching from June 16, 2026.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar Airways announced its plans to boost connectivity across Africa by restarting four weekly flights to Seychelles (SEZ) and two weekly flights to Kigali (KGL) from June 16. Additionally, a daily flight to Marrakesh (RAK) will commence from July 1. The move underscores the airline's commitment to enhancing its global connectivity.

Further, Qatar Airways has indicated its intention to increase the number of flights to several key African destinations, including Alexandria, Cairo, Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, Lusaka-Harare, and Maputo-Durban. This effort is part of a broader strategy to meet the growing demand for convenient air travel connectivity and trade.

Moreover, from July 2, the airline will launch three weekly flights to Port Sudan, Sudan. This expansion reinforces Qatar Airways' dedication to balancing sustainable growth with the increasing demand for air travel, as it continues to rebuild its extensive network of over 160 destinations worldwide.
