Doha: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, is participating in the 30th European International Competition for Memorization and Recitation of the Holy Quran 2024. Organized by the Islamic Sheikhdom in the Republic of Croatia in cooperation and sponsorship of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of the State of Qatar, the competition started on Thursday and ends tomorrow at the headquarters of the Islamic Cultural Center in the city of Zagreb. The delegation participating in the competition includes Director of the Department of Religious Call and Guidance at the Ministry Mal Allah Abdulrahman Al Jaber as head of the delegation, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, member of the competition's organizing committee, and Youssef Al Hammadi, permanent member of the judging committee, along with contestant Abdulaziz Abdul Rashid Ali Sufi, who is participating in the entire Holy Quran branch, and contestant Youssef Eid Youssef Al Sulaiti in half of the Quran branch. The contestants were nominated by the Holy Quran and its Sciences section at the Department of Religious Call and Guidance. The Ministry's interest in participating in Quranic competitions comes within the framework of its continuous efforts to spread the sciences of the Holy Quran and contribute to demonstrating the tolerance of Islam through the teachings of the Holy Quran, which urge the spread of peace, security and safety throughout the world.
