Doha: The State of Qatar took part in the extraordinary meeting of the GCC Ministers of Information, conducted on Monday through video conferencing. HE Chairman of Qatar Media Corporation Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al-Thani represented Qatar, accompanied by HE CEO of the Qatar Media Corporation Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al-Thani.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on boosting joint Gulf media coordination and integration. The discussions centered on developing a unified Gulf media narrative to collectively address the repercussions of the current crisis, alongside the security and political developments in the region, particularly in the context of the Iranian aggression against GCC countries.
The meeting also emphasized the necessity of combating misleading information, false news, and leaks disseminated through digital platforms and various media outlets. These narratives often aim to undermine and misrepresent the GCC countries' positions in defending themselves against aggression and threats to their security and stability.
Additionally, officials deliberated on creating and distributing media content in multiple languages. This content aims to provide awareness and reassurance messages to citizens and residents within the GCC countries. The material will underscore the stability of the situation, the preparedness of vital sectors and basic services, and enhance confidence in information and data from official GCC authorities.
