In another matter The Peninsula newspaper highlighted the diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and Italy, spanning several development sectors, especially in the economic, commercial and sports sectors. Besides, Qatari-Italian relations have been bolstered over the years as Qatari and Italian officials exchange visits to strengthen and develop these relations.

The newspaper said in its editorial titled "Consolidating Qatar-Italy ties" that the visit of HE Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni to Qatar demonstrated solid bilateral relations between the two countries.

The talks between the two leaders dealt with bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields, particularly in the economy, investment, energy, and defense. The two sides also discussed several regional and international issues of common interest, particularly developments in the Middle East region, the newspaper added.

It noted the that Italys energy giant ENI, in 2022, signed to become a partner with Qatar Energy to join the worlds biggest liquified natural gas (LNG) project, expected to come online before the end of 2025.

The Peninsula concluded by saying that for the upcoming Expo 2023, Italy a leader in modern agricultural technologies will showcase its technology and innovative processes at the Italian pavilion of Expo 2023 Doha.

Al-Watan newspaper highlighted in its editorial titled "A Model to Emulate" the comprehensive reforms implemented by Qatar in recent years with the aim of enhancing labor laws and ensuring a decent life for migrant workers.

It pointed to a number of these reforms including the minimum wage that was established in 2021, the abolishment of exit visas for residents in the country, allowing employees to change employers freely without requiring a no-objection certificate from the current employer, establishing visa centers in several countries to expedite the recruitment process and ensure that workers are not exploited in their home countries. The creation of a fund to support and provide insurance for workers, guaranteeing their care and rights, as well as ensuring a healthy and safe working environment, including measures to protect against heat stress, laws regarding domestic workers, joint committees, labor dispute resolution committees, and a wage protection system.

When the International Labor Organization (ILO) says that Qatar has become a model to be emulated in the field of migrant labor rights, it reflects the magnitude of the significant reforms that have been achieved. These reforms are rooted in Qatar's policy and its strong belief in human rights, the newspaper said.

It also noted the discussions between HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and the Director-General of the International Labor Organization Guy Ryder, which took place on Monday. These discussions were aimed at reaffirming the cooperative relationship between the State of Qatar and the organization, and Qatar's commitment to working with it based on its supportive approach to multilateral work, as explained by HE the Prime Minister.

It was not at all strange for the Director-General of the International Labor Organization to express his appreciation for the State of Qatar for its commitment and profound reforms that have become a model to be emulated, Al-Watan concluded.
