Qatari Newspapers Emphasize Dialogue and Development in Recent Editorials

Doha: In their editorials on Thursday, Qatari newspapers stressed that dialogue remains the best option for addressing regional and international conflicts, pointing to the trilateral meeting attended by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame, and HE President of the Democratic Republic of Congo Felix Tshisekedi Tshilombo, which reaffirmed the commitment of all parties to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, as well as the continuation of discussions that began in Doha to build a solid foundation for achieving sustainable peace.

According to Qatar News Agency, on the domestic front, the newspapers discussed the National Development Forum, which serves as an opportunity to highlight the development pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030. The newspapers also highlighted the prominent position of Hamad International Airport as an example of a successful and sustainable global airport.

Al-Sharq newspaper noted that the State of Qatar spares no effort to enhance international peace and security, which can be seen clearly through its vital roles and contributions towards peace, security, stability, and prosperity, not only in the region but everywhere in the world. It added that in this context, the trilateral meeting attended by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame, and HE President of the Democratic Republic of Congo Felix Tshisekedi Tshilombo, was held as part of the efforts to ease the situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The key outcomes of the meeting included the commitment of all parties to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and the continuation of discussions that began in Doha to build solid foundations for achieving sustainable peace.

The editorial concluded by saying that the wisdom of HH the Amir and his noble efforts are the driving force behind Qatar’s successes and its vital and effective role as a trusted mediator and peace maker in the world.

Meanwhile, Al-Watan emphasized in its editorial that the National Development Forum represents an opportunity to highlight the pillars of development within Qatar National Vision 2030, and create a conducive environment for opening avenues for dialogue and discussion among all components involved in the implementation of the Third National Development Strategy 2024 – 2030. The newspaper also highlighted the confirmation of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the National Planning Council Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani of the importance of the forum. His Excellency highlighted the private sector’s pivotal role in implementing the Third National Development Strategy, the newspaper added.

Al-Watan concluded by noting that this Forum takes on added importance by focusing on the role of youth, as well as the role of the private sector, through working to strengthen cooperation and partnership with it, which ensures the achievement of the desired development goals.
