Doha: Qatari newspapers, in their editorials today, addressed a variety of local and international topics. Locally, they focused on the celebration of Eid Al Fitr and the numerous recreational options Qatar offers for enjoying the holiday, whether at the beaches, desert adventures, or cultural and entertainment events. This year’s Eid coincides with pleasant weather that encourages visits to the country’s tourist attractions, where dozens of events take place, creating an atmosphere of joy for everyone.
According to Qatar News Agency, the papers also highlighted the Muslim world’s observance of Eid Al Fitr, which comes amid an ongoing, incomplete sense of celebration due to the hardships faced by Gaza’s residents and the lack of security in the occupied Palestinian territories. The holiday also coincides with Land Day, a Palestinian commemoration of the 1976 uprising by Palestinians inside the occupied territories, who resisted Israeli plans to seize their lands and erase their national identity.
Al Raya newspaper emphasized in its editorial that Qatar has successfully established itself as a top family tourism destination for holidays, particularly during Eid, thanks to the broad range of tourist facilities suitable for everyone. The newspaper noted that, given the ongoing tourism development in Qatar, the country has become a distinguished family destination during Eid, providing a safe environment and fully integrated entertainment options suitable for all ages. With diverse events and activities, Eid in Qatar offers a unique blend of entertainment, culture, and shopping.
It added that one major factor making Qatar an ideal destination for families is the abundance of children-friendly recreational venues, as well as public parks that provide extensive green spaces for family outings. There are also shopping malls with indoor play areas. However, the true hallmark of Eid in Qatar lies in the festive atmosphere throughout the country, from musical and artistic performances in malls to fireworks displays along the Corniche and other locations.
Meanwhile, The Peninsula newspaper, in its English-language editorial discussed the state’s preparations to welcome Eid Al Fitr. It explained that the municipalities have finalized their plans through intensive inspections and service initiatives to ensure food safety, maintain public services, and ready the parks for visitors. They have also intensified efforts to clean beaches and prayer spaces, ensuring a clean and safe environment for worshippers.
Furthermore, the newspaper said that the Ministry of Interior has confirmed that all preparations and procedures for Eid Al Fitr have been completed to ensure the continued provision of high-quality public services and the application of preventive security and traffic measures. These efforts aim to provide a safe and calm environment for citizens, residents, and visitors alike.
