Doha: Qatar's Al Rayyan has been crowned champions of the third edition of the West Asian Clubs Volleyball Championship for Men, currently held in Bahrain, after defeating Al Salam of Oman 3-0 in the fifth match of the tournament, which will conclude on Saturday. According to Qatar News Agency, with their victory, Al Rayyan topped the overall standings with 14 points obtained from five consecutive victories, while Al Salam remained in fourth place with 5 points. The match showcased a strong performance from Al Rayyan, who dominated all sets with scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-15. Al Rayyan's journey in the tournament began with a decisive win over Al Qadsia of Kuwait with a score of three sets to none. This was followed by victories over Al Ahli of Bahrain with three sets to none, Al Arabi with three sets to two, and Iraq's Masafi Al Shamal with three sets to none. They concluded their impressive run with a victory over Oman's Al Salam with three clean goals. Meanwhile, another Qatari team, Al Arabi, secur ed a win in their fourth match of the tournament against Iraq's Masafi Al Shamal, with a score of three sets to one (25-19, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20), raising their score to 10 points. Al Arabi is now awaiting their final match on Saturday against Bahrain's Al Ahli.
