QFFD, AFAD Lay Foundation Stone for Establishing Integrated City in Northern Syria

In a collaborative effort to support Syrian refugees and displaced individuals, Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) laid the foundation stone for a project to establish an integrated city in northern Syria The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by HE Director-General of QFFD Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari and HE Minister of Interior of the Republic of Turkey Suleyman Soylu.

This integrated city will provide comprehensive services and target 50,000 individuals. It will consist of 5,000 apartments and public facilities, including a mosque, a shopping center, 3 schools, and a health center.

The infrastructure of the city will also be developed, including the construction of roads, public parks, an electricity network, and water tanks, aiming to provide a decent living for Syrian refugees and support their resilience.

The cooperation between QFFD and AFAD is part of the funds efforts to support the Syrian people. Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, Qatar has been committed to responding and providing humanitarian and relief assistance to the Syrian people, based on its steadfast belief in their right to a decent life.

These essential aids have encompassed various projects covering key sectors such as health, education, economic empowerment, as well as relief and winter assistance.
