QSE Index Opens Lower Amid Pressure from Six Sectors

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index opened on a lower note, shedding 13.98 points, or 0.13%, to settle at 10,627 points. This decline came as a result of pressure from six sectors compared to the previous session's close.

According to Qatar News Agency, the market was primarily influenced by declines in the Industrials sector, which fell by 0.77%. Other sectors contributing to the index's fall included Insurance, down by 0.62%, Consumer Goods and Services, which decreased by 0.42%, Banks and Financial Services slipping by 0.09%, Transportation dropping by 0.04%, and Real Estate marginally decreasing by 0.02%. In contrast, the Telecoms sector showed a positive performance with an increase of 1.10%.

By 10:00 am, the trading turnover had reached QAR 98.430 million, with a total of 55.623 million shares being traded across 4,211 transactions.
