QSE Index Opens Lower as Three Sectors Decline

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index opened lower on Wednesday, experiencing a decline of 8.08 points, or 0.08%, settling at 10,676 points compared to the previous session's close. This downturn was primarily due to pressure from three key sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the market was notably impacted by the Consumer Goods and Services sector, which fell by 0.11%, the Banks and Financial Services sector, which decreased by 0.20%, and the Telecoms sector, which dropped by 0.51%. In contrast, there was positive performance observed in the Insurance sector, which rose by 0.46%, the Real Estate sector, which increased by 0.14%, and the Industrials sector, which edged up by 0.09%.

As of 10:00 am, the trading turnover reached QAR 85.649 million. The trading session witnessed the exchange of 46.544 million shares across 3,931 transactions.
