According to Qatar News Agency, data from the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) indicates that the fires have resulted in 26 deaths so far, with an additional eight people suffering serious injuries and 22 sustaining minor injuries.
The fires have led to the displacement of 37,185 people. Of these, 20,485 have been able to return to their homes, while 16,700 individuals remain unable to do so.
Efforts to extinguish the fires are ongoing in 10 locations, with the affected area now reaching 36,009 hectares. This figure surpasses the area affected by the worst forest fires in South Korea’s history in 2000, which totaled 23,794 hectares.
