SCW Secretary General issues Decision (24) of 2024

Manama, Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), issued Decision (24) of 2024, regarding the establishment of the International Arbitration Committee of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for the Advancement of Bahraini Women for the Eighth Edition (2024-2026). The Decision stated: After reviewing the Amiri Order (44) of 2001 on the establishment of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and its amendments, and Royal Order (5) of 2004 on the establishment of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Women's Advancement, as well as Royal Order (17) of 2019, amending Royal Order (5) of 2004 on establishing the Prize of the President of the SCW for the Empowerment of Bahrain Women, and Edict (11) of 2024, regarding the formation of the Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for the Advancement of Bahraini Women Committee for the Eighth Edition (2024-2026), and following the approv al of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the President of SCW, the International Arbitration Committee of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for the Advancement of Bahraini Women for the Eighth Edition (2024-2026) shall be formed as follows: 1- Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary General and Head of Social Affairs sector at the Arab League. 2- Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Women's Union in the United Arab Emirates. 3- Professor Dr. Ola Abdulaziz Abu Zeid, Head of the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University. The committee shall be responsible for overseeing the final nomination process for the award, adhering to the eligibility criteria set by the award committee. Following Article II of Royal Order (17) of 2019, which amended Royal Order (5) of 2004 establishing the award, the committee is also tasked with providing recommendations for its further development.
