Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala Al-Ansari, signed today a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dr. David Fernandez Puyana, the Permanent Observer of the United Nations University for Peace (UPEACE) to the United Nations and UNESCO.
The memo aims to enhance cooperation in boosting women’s role as an active element in promoting social peace and achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The agreement stipulated coordinating joint efforts in terms of following up on the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution (1325) of 2000 on women, peace and security. The resolution affirms the women’s leading role in achieving international peace and security, resolving conflicts and keeping peace.
