The governor of Russia's Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that two people were seriously injured in the Shebekino town on the border with Ukraine.

Two people were injured due to a shell exploding in front of their car and were taken to hospital in serious condition, Gladkov said in a press release.

Since Thursday, the Shebekino border area has been subjected to heavy Ukrainian shelling, killing at least four civilians, wounding 27 others, and causing significant damage to energy infrastructure facilities.
