Istanbul: HE Speaker of the Shura Council, Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met with HE Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, Professor Numan Kurtulmus, on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Istanbul. The discussions centered on strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries to serve common interests.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting also focused on key topics on the IPU Assembly's agenda. The speakers exchanged views, particularly on the emergency item submitted by Qatar, supported by various geopolitical groups within the IPU.

The leaders underscored the significance of backing the emergency item submitted by Qatar, highlighting its potential contribution to international peace and security, promoting a ceasefire, and enhancing global efforts to manage conflicts.
