The Communications and Media Commission discusses with an Iranian delegation enhancing cooperation in the media field

The head of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Moayyed, discussed with the Undersecretary of the Iranian Ministry of Culture for Media and Communications Affairs, Farshad Mehdi Bour, cooperation in the media field and the production of journalistic content that contributes to conveying the true picture of the two countries. A statement by the Commission stated: 'The Chairman of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Moayyed, met today, Friday, in the presence of a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Commission, Hisham Al-Rikabi, Undersecretary of the Iranian Ministry of Culture for Media and Communications Affairs, Farshad Mehdi Bour, and a delegation representing major media institutions in Iran.' The statement added: 'During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation in the media field, producing journalistic content that contributes to conveying the true picture of the two countries, and developing and organizing the work of modern digital platforms by producing mate rials that keep pace with developments witnessed in the world of communications and are compatible with the preferences of the public.' According to the statement, media coverage during the Arbaeen visit was also discussed. The Iranian delegation praised the Iraqi organization during previous years and the great and distinguished success of the media coverage during the Arbaeen visit last year, and it was suggested to benefit from the Iranian experience in the field of media organization of holy visits.' In another aspect of the meeting, the two sides discussed mechanisms for joint action between the two countries to combat fake news and ways to combat it by forming joint committees that contribute to reducing misleading rumors and fake content that harm the relationship between the two countries. The Iranian delegation proposed the possibility of organizing training courses in the Islamic Republic of Iran, given its universities specialized in the field of media and communications, as well as the trainin g institutes interested in this field.'
