The Information Security Center at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), organized an educational awareness lecture under the title Lessons Learned from the Latest Threats and Cyber Attacks on State Agencies, attended by HE the Director of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, Major Mahmoud Salah Ibrahim of the Electronic Security Unit, several officers from MoI, and representatives from different entities of the state.
In his speech, Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, stressed the importance of the role played by the center in facing the phenomenon in cooperation with related entities. He also highlighted the importance of the people working under this framework.
In this regard, Qatar's government is working on establishing comprehensive networks and umbrellas for the state, taking into consideration upcoming events, programs such as the World Cup 2022, which must be protected, he said.
Al Khulaifi explained that MoI is working to attract various official entities, so as to secure them from cyber-attacks. He added considering a large number of hacking attempts in Qatar or other countries it is evident that these attacks occur daily and that they are carried out by nations or individuals, which magnifies the issue and makes it pose a high risk for Qatar if it is not protected well.
