Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, discussed with his Saudi counterpart ways to develop the transport sector between the two brotherly countries. A statement by the Ministry of Transport said that the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibes Al-Saadawi, met today, Monday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with the Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh Al-Jasser, and discussed with him a number of files related to the fields of air, sea and land transport between the two brotherly countries, on the sidelines of the Future of Aviation 2024 conference held in Riyadh for the period from 20 to 22 May. The Minister said that the transportation sector in Iraq is witnessing a major development and renaissance in light of the support of the Prime Minister, Engineer Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, for the work of the Ministry and its service and strategic projects, noting that the aviation sector has recently witnessed a recovery in the level of services at Iraqi airports, and the demand of travelers fo r the Iraqi national carrier, which he expanded his travel destinations, and continues his endeavors in this regard. Al-Saadawi, in the presence of the Iraqi Ambassador to Riyadh, Safiya Al-Suhail, the Director General of the Airports and Air Navigation Department, Dr. Abbas Al-Baidhani, and the Director-General of Iraqi Airways, Engineer Manaf Abdel Moneim Ajel, reviewed the most prominent achievements witnessed by the Iraqi transport sector, and the national strategic plans in the field of air transport and others. The meeting discussed, according to the statement, the activation of air links between Iraqi and Saudi airports, in light of the increasing demand by citizens in both countries for travel for religious and other tourism. It is noteworthy that the Future of Aviation 2024 conference and the accompanying exhibition will be held over three days, and will witness the participation of 120 speakers, during which they will review their experiences on the most prominent issues currently facing the glob al aviation sector, including growth and investment, airports and air connectivity, supply chain management and flexibility, and shipping and logistics services, air traffic and the future of aviation, technology, digital transformation and safety, human capital, and sustainability.
