Beirut: Three people were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a vehicle in the Yahmar Al-Shaqif area of southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced in a statement today.
According to Qatar News Agency, earlier reports from Lebanese sources indicated that an Israeli airstrike on the town of Maaroub, also in southern Lebanon, resulted in one fatality and left another person injured.
Notably, a ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon took effect on November 27, mandating the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from border villages and towns within sixty days. The Beirut government later agreed to an extension of the deadline until February 18. While Israeli forces have withdrawn from most areas, five border points remain under their control.
