Turkey's Ministry of Interior said that 1,001 illegal migrants have been deported between April 21 and 27.

Data published by the Interior Immigration Department on its Twitter account also showed that authorities seized 1860 illegal immigrants in the country in the same period.

The total number of deportees since early this year has risen to 33,741.

Turkey's borders with Greece and Bulgaria have been seeing an increase in the number of illegal immigrants taking the land or sea routes with the hope of reaching a European State. (QNA)
