The Anti-Crime Directorate detachments arrested two suspects in their possession of antiquities they intend to sell south of Baghdad. The Directorate stated in a statement that the detachments of the Baghdad Anti-Crime Directorate / Mahmoudiyah Office for Combating Crime were able to arrest two suspects working in the antiquities trade, and three antiquities were seized in their possession, along with a pistol type (HS), a sum of money, and telephones. He explained that the arrest took place after the detachments received information about the location of the accused and that they had antiquities in their possession that they intended to sell in the Mahmoudiya area, south of Baghdad. Immediately, a working team was formed in cooperation with the Economic Crime Combating Detachments, where a tight ambush was set up for the accused and they were arrested. The investigation papers were presented to the investigating judge, who decided to detain them in accordance with the provisions of Article (44) of the Anti quities Law so that they may receive their just punishment.
