Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, held a phone call with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and ways to boost cooperation, as well as emphasised key regional and international issues of common interest, WAM reported. Their Highnesses reviewed the developments in the Middle East and the serious threats to regional stability and security, urging aall parties to exercise maximum restraint and prevent a broader conflict. They addressed efforts to enhance the response to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, highlighted the importance of strengthening efforts to bring about an immediate ceasefire, provide full protection to civilians in accordance with the rules of international humanitarian law, and ensure the sustainable and unimpeded flow of sufficient humanitarian aid. Th eir Highnesses emphasised the need for determined international action to prevent further regional escalation of the conflict.
