UK Prime Minister Expresses Concern Over Israeli Renewed Offensive on Gaza

London: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer voiced serious concern over the renewed Israeli offensive on Gaza, which resumed in the early hours of Tuesday. During his weekly Prime Minister’s Questions session in the UK Parliament, Starmer emphasized his deep concern over the resumption of Israeli military operations, stating that images of families carrying their children to hospitals were deeply shocking.

According to Qatar News Agency, Starmer reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to doing everything possible to facilitate a ceasefire, secure the release of detainees, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. Israel resumed its military assault on Gaza early Tuesday, ending a two-month truce that had been in place since Jan. 19. However, throughout the ceasefire period, Israel repeatedly violated its terms, continuing airstrikes on various areas of Gaza, causing casualties and injuries.

Furthermore, Israel failed to uphold the agreed humanitarian protocol and tightened its blockade, further exacerbating an already dire humanitarian crisis in the besieged territory.
