Under the patronage of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister, GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre to celebrate 30th anniversary

Manama, Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre (GCCCAC) will organise a ceremony on May 7 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its founding. Dr. Kamal Al Hamad, Secretary General of the GCCCAC, expressed his thanks and appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his patronage of the event. Dr. Al Hamad noted that the kingdom's continued support of the centre has contributed to its success and in building confidence in the GCC as a hub for arbitration and attracting investments. The Secretary General said in a statement on this occasion that Bahrain has supported the centre since its establishment thirty years ago, highlighting its role in backing the development of the GCC commercial arbitration system. He added that Bahrain's advanced commercial, arbitration, and legal attributes have created a favourable environment for investments and spreading the culture of Arbitration. T he Secretary General also commended Bahrain for encouraging the development of a legislative environment that produces advanced and innovative laws. Dr. Al Hamad highlighted the achievements of the centre over the past decades, as it succeeded in providing a high-level arbitration environment and providing fair and effective solutions to commercial disputes. He added that the 30th anniversary of the GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre represents an important step in implementing its new strategy to become one of the top 10 global arbitration centres.
