Doha: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Education Excellence Award, Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi, announced the completion of all preparations for the upcoming Education Excellence Award ceremony, which is set to take place under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. This high-level event celebrates the achievements of individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication and perseverance.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Mohannadi emphasized that the 18th session of the Education Excellence Award represents a significant milestone in the award’s history. The ceremony, scheduled for next Sunday, is not just a moment of recognition for the winners but also for the institutions, schools, and universities that have supported this journey towards excellence.
Al Mohannadi highlighted that since the inception of the award in 2006, its primary goal has been to nurture distinguished cadres capable of contributing to national development. Over 1,000 participants have been honored throughout the award’s history, many of whom now hold leadership roles across various sectors in Qatar, illustrating the tangible impact of their achievements.
The CEO stressed the importance of leveraging the excellence achieved by the award’s winners to inspire future generations, aligning with the award’s slogan: “With Excellence, We Build Generations.” This, she noted, is key to maintaining Qatar’s status as a hub for creativity and scientific innovation.
Discussing the aspirations for this session, Al Mohannadi expressed optimism about welcoming a new cohort of individuals who understand the importance of using their academic achievements to fulfill their national and societal responsibilities.
She pointed out that the Education Excellence Award has evolved into a platform for cultivating ambition and refining skills, emphasizing that the pursuit of excellence is an ongoing journey. Furthermore, she underscored the importance of the award in supporting Qatar National Vision 2030 goals by fostering sustainable and effective excellence.
The patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, she added, is a testament to the nation’s need for the intellectual and physical contributions of its distinguished citizens to further its development and prosperity.
Al Mohannadi also noted the increased number of winners this year compared to previous sessions, attributing this to the award’s success in fostering a culture of creativity and excellence within Qatari society. She emphasized that the award is accessible to anyone who strives for it, with Qatar’s educational system providing numerous quality opportunities for those who seek them.
In efforts to raise awareness, the award’s executive committee plans to launch promotional booths at Katara, West Walk, and Place Vendome Mall from February 20 to 22. These booths aim to inform the public about the award and encourage participation while showcasing the success stories of past winners.
Al Mohannadi explained that the judging committees, composed of elite educational experts, play a crucial role in maintaining the award’s high standards. With nine specialized committees and approximately 45 members, they ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation process.
She also highlighted the award’s role in promoting innovation through its criteria, which encourages candidates to engage in research, creative thinking, and community contributions. In the digital age, she noted, innovation is essential for achieving excellence.
While acknowledging the efforts of those who did not win, Al Mohannadi encouraged them to view participation as a step towards improvement and development, with perseverance leading to future success.
Looking ahead, Al Mohannadi revealed plans to develop a strategic project for the award’s future, ensuring it continues to stimulate excellence and innovation. This project, supervised by the Board of Trustees and the Award Development Committee, aims to enhance the award’s position as a leading initiative in supporting educational and creative excellence in Qatar.
Finally, Al Mohannadi extended her congratulations to the winners and expressed gratitude to the Qatari families, schools, and institutions that played a vital role in nurturing and supporting the distinguished individuals celebrated by the award.
