London, An earthquake measuring 4.9 Magnitude on the Richter scale struck the South Sandwich Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic Ocean. The epicenter of the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported. There have been no reports of material damage or human losses resulting from the earthquake so far.
