Arrest Warrants Against Trespassers On Citizens’ Lands In Al-Jadriya / More

The Ministry of Interior announced today, Saturday, the issuance of arrest warrants against trespassers on citizens' lands in Jadriya area.

In a statement, the ministry said, "In confirmation of the approach of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to enhance security stability and societal peace and to preserve the lives and property of public private citizens, as they represent the most important pillars of the government approach, based on appeals circulated through the media and social media platforms to these citizens about the seizure and bulldozing of their lands in al-Jadriya area of the capital, Baghdad.

It added: “The Prime Minister ordered the formation of an investigative committee on the evening of August 13, 2023, in the Ministry of Interior, and with personal supervision and follow-up by the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari. The committee began its investigation work immediately on the morning of August 14, 2023, and went to the aforementioned area. The damage occurred to them and they wrote down their testimonies, and the committee completed its work and issued its recommendations within 24 hours.

The ministry indicated that "the recommendations concluded with an approach to the Central Court in Rusafa to take legal measures against those who trespassed and bulldozed the lands, in addition to forming a committee from the Ministry of Agriculture, Baghdad Municipality, Baghdad Operations Command and other departments to remove the trespasses, implement the judicial orders related to the lands, and direct the military unit holding the land and the municipality Karrada to prevent land razing.

The ministry indicated that: "On August 16, 2023, the approval of the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces obtained the implementation of the recommendations, and he ordered his sovereignty order to implement the arrest warrant against the perpetrators of these legal violations and take legal measures against them."

The ministry affirmed, "The government's continuous measures in this regard came in line with the directives of the Supreme religious authority, Sayyid Ali Al-Sistani, during his meeting today, Saturday, with the affected citizens, and they come as confirmation and support for the government's visions to lift the injustice of citizens and prosecute anyone who threatens citizens for private goals and interests."
