Bahrain and India explore tourism opportunities

Tourism Minister Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi held a meeting with her Indian counterpart Rohan Khaunte on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market.

The Arabian Travel Market is held at the Dubai World Trade Center in Dubai under the slogan "Working towards achieving net zero emissions", in the presence of global travel industry leaders, decision makers and industry experts around the world.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation to encourage inter-tourism, focusing on the possibility of launching joint programs packages that offer tourists unique experiences, in addition to marketing and joint tourism promotions.

They also discussed cooperation to attract more Indian weddings to Bahrain, in light of the great success achieved by the Kingdom in revitalizing the "wedding tourism" sector.

The ministers explored mutual tourism promotionto highlight tourist destinations in both countriesBahrain, specifically the coastal state of Goa and its tourism potential.

They agreed to continue joint efforts to revitalize the sector and enhance its contribution to the national economy of both countries, within the framework of their keenness to strengthen partnerships.

Al Sairafi highlighted Bahrain’s initiatives to develop the sector, by exploring new natural destinations and opening up horizons for investors, especially in opportunities to develop beachfront areas, business trips and holidays, conference and exhibition industry.

She also briefed her Indian counterpart on the most prominent features of the tourism strategy 2022-2026 for the coming period, highlighting the ministry and BTEA’s efforts to build on the good performance achieved in recent years.
