Bahrain’s International Quran Competition to conclude Wednesday

Manama, Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the closing ceremony of the Bahrain International Quran Competition, Global Reciter, will be held tomorrow. The competition is organised by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA). The final qualifiers of the competition are set to be held today in person in Bahrain. More than 5,000 contestants from 47 countries participated in the previous qualifying stages of the competition. The competition is officially sponsored by the Justice Ministry, with the Information Ministry as its media partner. The competition's technical partner is the Information and e-Government Authority (iGA). The competition's media sponsors are Al Ayam and Al Watan newspapers. The competition's platinum sponsors are Kuwait Finance House and STC and the gold sponsors are Al Salam Bank, Ithmaar Bank, Diyar Al Muharraq company, Bahrain National Gas Company, and Gulf Plastic Indu stries. The Global Reciter is a global competition for the recitation of the Holy Quran that allows participants from all over the world wherever the internet is accessible through logging-in to quran.bh website, entering their details, and uploading their recitation video clips where juries remotely and from different territories evaluate the recitations according to the set criteria. The competition aims to serve the holy Quran and provide the best care for it, as well as encourage youth to read and recite the Quran internationally, highlight the efforts of Bahrain in caring for the holy Quran and reinforce the efforts and initiatives of the kingdom in the eGovernment arena.
