China Urges US Not to View Sino-US Relations From Cold War Perspective

Doha: China has urged the US not to impose a hegemonic logic or view Sino-US relations from a Cold War perspective, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said Wednesday. Addressing a presser in response to a US report claiming that China poses the greatest military and cyber threat to the US, Guo said the US side issues these biased reports year after year, propagating the China threat narrative and inciting competition among major powers as a mere pretext to contain and suppress China and maintain its hegemony.

According to Qatar News Agency, Guo emphasized that China’s development is guided by a clear historical logic and driven by a robust internal force. He reiterated that China’s objectives are pursued openly and honestly, with the intention of improving the lives of the Chinese people and contributing positively to the global community. Guo firmly stated that China has no ambition to surpass or replace any other nation.
