HH the Amir Engages in Phone Discussion with Sri Lankan President on Regional Tensions

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani engaged in a telephone conversation with HE Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, focusing on regional developments and bilateral concerns.

According to Qatar News Agency, President Dissanayake expressed Sri Lanka's solidarity with Qatar amidst ongoing Iranian aggression affecting both Qatar and the wider region. He also highlighted the importance of international coordination to address regional challenges and escalate military tensions impacting global energy markets and supply chains.

HH the Amir reassured the Sri Lankan President regarding the conditions within Qatar, particularly concerning the wellbeing of the Sri Lankan community. He reiterated the Qatari government's commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all residents in the country.

The conversation between the two leaders also covered Qatar's role as a reliable energy partner. HH the Amir stressed Qatar's commitment to maintaining stable energy supplies despite current challenges, underscoring the importance of diplomatic solutions to resolve the ongoing crisis.

Both leaders emphasized the need for intensified regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote stability in the region.
