Doha: Iranian news agency "Tasnim" reported Tuesday the killing of Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). In a statement, the council confirmed that Larijani was killed alongside his son and several aides in an Israeli airstrike targeting the capital, Tehran.

According to Qatar News Agency, the incident has heightened tensions in the region, with Iranian officials condemning the attack. The airstrike reportedly targeted a strategic location in Tehran, resulting in significant casualties and damage.

The SNSC, Iran's top security body, plays a key role in shaping the country's foreign and defense policies. Larijani was a prominent figure within the Iranian government, known for his involvement in various diplomatic and security-related negotiations.
