His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received, in the presence of HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Personal Representative, Lieutenant-General HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, and Colonel HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Guard Special Force Commander, General Michael Kurilla, the Commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM) at the Al-Safriya Palace today.
HM the King welcomed the US CENTCOM Commander, expressing the kingdom’s pride in its solid long-standing strategic relations with the USA, which have always been based on mutual respect, as well as joint cooperation and coordination.
HM King Hamad lauded the steady growth of bilateral cooperation, especially in the military and defence fields, to achieve all common goals and interests.
HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, affirmed the ‘pivotal’ role played by the US Administration, in cooperation with allied and friendly countries, to strengthen the pillars of regional and global security, stability and peace, commending the efforts exerted by General Michael Kurilla to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the military and defence fields.
HM the King also praised the good efforts made by the US Navy to protect international navigation, as well as secure oil supplies and global trade in the Gulf, valuing highly the existing constructive defence cooperation between the two countries to maintain regional security, stability and global interests.
The two sides discussed regional and global developments, including the current situation in the region.
The US CENTCOM Commander expressed thanks and appreciation to HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for HM’s pride in his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance joint military cooperation.
He also lauded the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ‘pivotal’ role and important contributions to safeguarding regional security and stability.
Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Foreign Affairs Minister, and Lieutenant-General Dheyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, the Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force, were present.
