Doha: The Inaugural ministerial meeting of the Qatari-Turkish joint financial and economic committee convened in Istanbul on Thursday. The meeting was co-chaired by HE Minister of Finance, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, and HE Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Simsek, representing the State of Qatar and Turkiye respectively. It included officials from both public and private sectors of the two nations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the committee discussed proposals and perspectives aimed at enhancing economic and investment cooperation between the countries. They shared viewpoints on economic projects, Qatari-Turkish trading opportunities, and the exchange of visits by economic delegations to bolster bilateral relations in financial and economic areas.
The committee also reviewed economic expertise and emphasized the importance of utilizing the two nations' experiences in reforms to diversify their national economies. In his opening remarks, HE Al Kuwari emphasized the importance of partnership between Qatar and Turkiye, stating that the meeting was part of Qatar's commitment to improving the business climate and strengthening financial and economic relations for mutual benefit.
