Israeli Occupation Continues Assault on Jenin for 65th Day

Jenin: For the 65th consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression on the city of Jenin and its permanent refugee camp, marked by ongoing house demolitions and burning, while converting some into military outposts.

According to Qatar News Agency, local sources said that Israeli forces continue to shoot live gunfire across the camp, as infantry units advance through its neighborhoods, aided by the intensive use of surveillance drones flying over the city and the refugee camp. Moreover, military reinforcements and bulldozers are being deployed, as demolition operations, street expansion, and road construction are underway.

The Jenin municipality reported that occupation authorities have notified that approximately 66 buildings will be demolished, which translates to about 300 homes. The municipality added that the occupation forces have demolished 100 percent of the refugee camp’s roads and 80 percent of the city’s streets, in addition to displacing the residents of 3200 homes.

The assault on Jenin over the past 65 days has claimed the lives of 34 Palestinians so far, left scores injured, and led to the detention of hundreds more.
