Doha: The Ministry of Labor and Al Araby TV Network have entered into a cooperation agreement to advance the training and professional qualification of the national workforce within the media sector. This agreement was formalized on Thursday, with the signing ceremony attended by prominent figures from both entities.
According to Qatar News Agency, the cooperation document was signed by Shaikha Abdulrahman Al Badi, Undersecretary for National Manpower Affairs, and Abbad Yahya, General Manager of Al Araby Television Network. This partnership aims to provide specialized training for Qatari job seekers and the children of Qatari women, equipping them with essential skills required in the media industry to improve their employability.
The initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts, spearheaded by the Qualifying and Skills Development Department, to prepare national job seekers, particularly university graduates, for the labor market. The primary objective is to enhance their readiness and increase their chances of securing employment in the private sector.
Under this cooperation document, both the Ministry and Al Araby Television Network will collaboratively design and implement training programs for job seekers with university degrees or secondary school certificates, focusing on skills pertinent to the media field.
The agreement further includes practical training initiatives tailored to meet the needs of university students and job seekers, ensuring they are adequately prepared for employment opportunities within the private sector. Shaikha Abdulrahman Al Badi emphasized the importance of this collaboration in bolstering the skills of the national workforce, particularly in the fast-evolving media sector. She noted that the sector’s growth, spurred by the influx of global institutions, presents significant opportunities, enhancing national workforce participation both regionally and globally. She also underscored that the document reflects the Ministry’s dedication to fortifying the national workforce and enhancing job readiness, in line with the Job Nationalisation Law.
This collaboration forms a part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to support the national workforce, with prior agreements already established with private sector institutions to provide job training and development opportunities. These initiatives align with Qatar’s job nationalisation objectives and the third National Development Strategy.
