Ministry of Labour Hosts Training Course for Job Seekers Specialising in Information Systems

Doha: The Ministry of Labour, represented by the Qualifying and Skills Development Department, has organised a specialised training course in collaboration with Meeza Company, focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs). The course was designed for Qatari job seekers, including the children of Qatari women, with expertise in Information Systems.

According to Qatar News Agency, this initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance the national workforce, aligning with Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy and Vision 2030. It aims to increase the presence of Qataris in the private and shared sectors while preparing them to meet the challenges of the digital economy and build a talent pool capable of addressing future economic and developmental demands.

During the training, held on 19 and 20 February, participants gained in-depth knowledge of LLMs, covering theoretical foundations, advanced design concepts, and the operational mechanisms of these models. Emphasis was placed on their application in syntactic construction, semantics, and the intrinsic nature of language.

In addition, job seekers explored the practical aspects of LLM applications, including hardware considerations and publishing. The course also addressed ethical and environmental challenges associated with AI technology, highlighting future trends and emerging job opportunities in the field.

At the end of the training course, participants were acknowledged for their dedication and discipline throughout the programme and for successful completion of the course. This accomplishment has equipped them with essential technological skills, positioning them to effectively compete for specialised digital roles in the private sector.
