Oman Foreign Minister Engages in Diplomatic Talks with Indian and Austrian Counterparts

Muscat: Omani Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, held separate phone conversations with his Indian and Austrian counterparts to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the call with India's External Affairs Minister, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, both parties exchanged views on the situation in the region, particularly concerning the disrupted maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. They emphasized the necessity of intensifying diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and find lasting, sustainable solutions to the crisis.

In a separate call with Austria's Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, Beate Meinl-Reisinger, Al Busaidi discussed regional and global developments and their impacts. The conversation highlighted the importance of continuing and intensifying diplomatic efforts to ensure the free flow of maritime supply chains and navigation in compliance with international law.

Al Busaidi and Meinl-Reisinger stressed that achieving a breakthrough requires flexibility and necessary concessions from concerned parties to establish sustainable solutions that prevent the Middle East and the world from facing the threat of war and armed conflict.
