Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met at his office on Sunday with a delegation from the Palestinian factions. The meeting focused on assessing the progress of various aspects of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which has recently come into effect. Key issues discussed included the exchange of prisoners and detainees, the entry of aid into the region, and the return of displaced individuals to their homes.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring the complete and ongoing implementation of the ceasefire agreement to achieve sustainable peace and stability in the region. His Excellency affirmed Qatar’s continued support for the Gaza Strip, highlighting the resumption of the airlift of aid as part of the agreed measures.
His Excellency further reiterated Qatar’s unwavering stance on supporting the Palestinian cause, advocating for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
