Qatar Exports Office Opens Doors in Riyadh to Boost Bilateral Trade

Riyadh: The Qatar Exports Office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was inaugurated Wednesday in Riyadh, marking a strategic effort to enhance the accessibility of Qatari products in the Saudi market and foster bilateral economic cooperation.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, emphasized that the newly-opened office signifies the robust and enduring relations between the two nations, particularly in economic sectors. His Excellency highlighted the mutual strategic interest of both countries in reinforcing relations and partnerships across various fields. He underscored the eagerness to enhance trade cooperation and integration in vital sectors.

The launch of the office follows thorough discussions and a comprehensive study of the Saudi market, which presents a plethora of opportunities and is a focal point for the global business sector. His Excellency noted that the presence of the office in Riyadh allows Qatari companies to leverage the promising opportunities available in the Saudi market, stimulating the private sectors in both countries to contribute to developing bilateral relations, transferring expertise, and turning investment opportunities into tangible partnerships.

His Excellency further explained that the office aims to streamline the entry of Qatari products into the Saudi market, offering logistical, commercial, and advisory support to Qatari companies. It will also enhance bilateral partnerships between the private sectors, urging Qatari companies to invest in the Kingdom’s various promising sectors and capitalize on the opportunities presented by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

This initiative is the first of its kind from Qatar’s Export Development and Promotion Agency (TASDEER), making the Saudi market the primary regional destination for Qatari exports, given its economic importance and status as the largest market in the region. His Excellency noted the significant economic advancements in the Kingdom under Vision 2030, which have created a competitive and attractive environment, bolstering investment opportunities and achievements in various fields, including environmental conservation and clean energy.

He highlighted that these developments have attracted major international companies, prompting them to relocate their headquarters to Saudi Arabia, thereby benefiting the regional business sector. His Excellency also mentioned that Qatar Development Bank organized an event in January in Riyadh, bringing together relevant parties from both nations. This event included field visits to investment sites, bilateral meetings, and provided Qatari companies with direct insights into the Saudi business environment and potential cooperation opportunities.

Abdullah Ali Al Obaidli, Director of the Qatar Exports Office in Saudi Arabia, described the opening as a significant step for Qatari companies to expand into one of the region’s largest and most dynamic markets. He noted that the office would serve as an integrated support platform, linking Qatari products with growth and expansion opportunities in Saudi Arabia and providing essential information and consultations for adapting to local market requirements.

Al Obaidli emphasized that strengthening trade channels between Qatar and Saudi Arabia would create a more dynamic environment for companies, enabling Qatari exporters to grow their businesses and establish crucial trade partnerships, thus adding value to both countries’ economies. He affirmed that this move highlights the depth of economic ties between Qatar and Saudi Arabia and enhances collaborative efforts toward a prosperous future for trade and investment cooperation.
